Wayne Leechford is a multi-instrumental musician and music educator from Raleigh, North Carolina. As a woodwind specialist, he performs with many of the area's top musical ensembles. He maintains a busy schedule of live performances and teaching.
He brings over thirty years of performing and over twenty years of teaching experience to his work as a music educator. He is committed to excellence in teaching his students the fundamentals of music while helping them master their instruments.
Wayne Leechford is the adjunct professor of saxophone at Meredith College. He has worked as an instrumental music teacher for North Carolina State University, Wake Technical Community College, Shaw University, and Ravenscroft School. In addition, he has taught as guest instructor/clinician for Saint Augustine’s College, North Carolina School of Science and Math, Durham School of the Arts, Franklin Academy, St. David’s School, St. Timothy’s School, Durant Road Middle School, East Millbrook Middle School, Salem Middle School, Athens Drive High School, Enloe High School, Green Hope High School, Middle Creek High School, Holly Springs High School, Fuquay-Varina High School, Cary High School, And, he served as adjudicator for Governor’s School of North Carolina and Wake County All-County Band.
