Bio
Wayne Leechford is the owner of Leechford Music Teaching Studios (LMTS). He started LMTS in 2011 to continue his own private studio in Cary, NC and to help other music teachers looking for a way to establish financial independence with their own studios. Wayne's inspiration for this design came from Harold Burt (Burt Music) who offered the same opportunity to music teachers until his retirement from the business in 2010.
Mr. Leechford is a professional musician and music educator from Raleigh, North Carolina. As a woodwind specialist, he performs with many of the area's top musical ensembles. He maintains a busy schedule with live performances, private and group music lessons, and musician contacting.
Wayne Leechford brings twenty-five years of performing experience and over fifteen years of private teaching experience to his work as a music educator. He is committed to excellence in teaching his students the fundamentals of music while helping them master their instruments. He teaches music to a culturally diverse group of students with varying levels of proficiency.
Wayne Leechford is adjunct professor of saxophone at North Carolina State University, He has been employed as an instrumental music teacher by Shaw University, Ravenscroft School, Cary School of Music, Mars Music, and West End Music. In addition, he has taught as guest instructor for Saint Augustine’s College, North Carolina School of Science and Math, Durham School of the Arts, Franklin Academy, St. David’s School, St. Timothy’s School, Durant Road Middle School, East Millbrook Middle School, Salem Middle School, Athens Drive High School, Enloe High School, Green Hope High School, Middle Creek High School, Holly Springs High School, Fuquay-Varina High School, Cary High School, And, he served as adjudicator for Governor’s School of North Carolina and Wake County All-County Band.
